Description
Twenty beds, six bedrooms, and not one room you have to walk through to reach another. With a big group, that's exactly what makes the difference. The sleeping floor holds four rooms with twelve beds between them, split into two doubles, a triple and a generous family room for five, plus two bathrooms with shower and toilet. Up in the attic there are two more rooms sleeping four each, with their own toilet. Five toilets in all, so nobody is left dancing outside a closed door in the morning.
The heart of the place is on the ground floor. A roomy living room with a big sofa and a tiled stove that keeps the whole floor warm, a dining table everyone can sit at together, and the fully equipped kitchen right beside it. Both open onto the balcony, heated with infrared panels, so you can sit out there in February with a beer while it's freezing outside.
Go down a floor and it gets properly good. The sauna fits twelve at a time, with showers beside it and a large communal room with a second kitchen and dining area. The kind of room where the evening quietly runs two hours over. The ski room is on this floor too, with a drying cabinet and boot warmers.
From there you step straight onto the lower terrace, also heated, with an open view of the mountains. In summer the outdoor whirlpool is ready and waiting. There's also a seating terrace with a grill, a fire pit for the evenings and a play area with a sandpit, swing and their own playhouse for the children. You park right in front of the door, with a charging point for electric cars, and there's a lockable garage for bikes and motorbikes with e-bike charging. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
The village centre is seventy metres away. A shop at a hundred and fifty metres, a bakery at two hundred that people make a detour for, and a restaurant with its own brewery within walking distance. In winter the nearest slope is less than a kilometre and a half away, and the sledging happens right beside the house. The Jeseníky have ski areas in every size, cross-country trails through snowy forest and noticeably fewer crowds than the Alps. In summer the hiking trails cross practically at the front door and you're up into the mountains on a bike within minutes.
After a day outside it always goes the same way here. Sauna first, then out onto the heated terrace with a beer while you can still see your own breath, and after that all twenty of you around that long oak table.
